Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
Yuki is a virtual pet game for children, made by Hemanta Pokharel ("we").
We built Yuki with privacy first: we do not collect personal data, and the game does not transmit your gameplay information to external servers.
The short version
🔒 We do not collect, store, share, or sell any personal data. Yuki's core features work offline, and the app does not send gameplay data to any servers.
What Yuki does not do
- No accounts, sign-ups, names, email addresses or ages are asked for.
- No advertising, and no advertising IDs.
- No analytics, crash reporting, tracking or third-party SDKs.
- No in-app purchases, payments or links to websites or other apps.
- No chat, social features or contact with other users.
- No location, contacts, camera or photo library access.
- No internet connection is required for core gameplay. The app does not transmit gameplay data to external servers.
Microphone
Yuki's "Talk" feature lets a child speak and hear Yuki repeat the words in a funny voice.
- The microphone is only on while the Talk button is switched on and Yuki's room is on screen. It switches off when Yuki sleeps, during games and menus, and whenever the app goes into the background.
- The sound is processed only on the device, in memory, to play it back. It is never written to storage, never recorded to a file, and never sent anywhere. The last clip is thrown away when the microphone turns off or the app closes.
- We do not create voiceprints or any other biometric identifiers, and we do not do speech recognition.
- The device asks for microphone permission the first time Talk is used. A grown-up can switch talk-back off completely in the grown-ups area (Settings → Talk-back), or revoke the permission in the device settings at any time. The rest of the game works without it.
Data stored on the device
Game progress is stored locally on your device so it is there next time you play (the pet's needs, coins, room items, stickers, settings, and any pictures taken in the in-game photo booth of Yuki; the device camera is never used). This data is kept in the app's private local storage, and we do not have access to it.
- No cloud backups: Yuki does not currently provide or operate cloud backup services.
- A grown-up can erase all local game data at any time via Settings → Reset, or by uninstalling the app.
- If a grown-up uses "Save to phone" in the photo album, that picture is saved locally to the device's photo gallery or Files location chosen by the user.
Children's privacy (COPPA, GDPR-K)
Yuki is designed for children. We do not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13, so no parental consent is needed for data collection. The grown-ups area is protected by a parental gate.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. We will never add data collection to Yuki without updating this policy first and following the App Store Kids Category and Google Play Families rules.
